LHS Track and Field Lions (2018 Henry County Track and Field Championships Day 1 and 2)

The Track and Field Lions competed yesterday in Day 1 of the Henry County Track and Field Championships. Below are some highlights from the meet:

 

Girls:

 The girls 4x100 relay team (Lisa Osondu, Kamorah Castro, Kailah Melson, and Caitlyn Keaton) qualified to participate in Day 2 finals. The relay team also achieved a team best of 49.85 seconds.

 Lisa Osondu and Caitlyn Keaton qualified to participate in the Day 2 finals of the 400 meter dash.

 Kamorah Castro qualified to participate in the Day 2 finals of the 100 meter dash.

 Lisa Osondu placed 6th overall in the girls 300 meter hurdles, and achieved a season’s best.

 

Boys:

 Josh Jones achieved a personal best in the boys discus.

 The boys 4x100 relay team (DeJon Conway, Raynard Gibson, Reggie Temple, and Latrell Murray) qualified to participate in the Day 2 finals.

 Malik Williams qualified to participate in the Day 2 finals of the 800 meter run.

 Lamar Overton achieved a personal best in the 400 meter dash.

 Latrell Murray qualified to participate in the Day 2 finals of the 110 meter hurdles.

 DeJon Conway achieved a personal best in the boys 200 meter dash.

 Latrell Murray placed first in the boys 300 meter hurdles. He achieved a personal best of 37.34 seconds and broke the Eagle’s Landing High School stadium record for the boys 300 meter hurdles.

 

Day 2 of the Henry County Track and Field Championships is Thursday at Eagle’s Landing High School. Additional athletes will be competing that day in the boys 4x400 meter relay and girls/boys 1600 meter run. We look forward to seeing you all at the meet, and we thank you for your support.

The Track and Field Lions participated in Day 2 of the Henry County Championships at ELHS. Below are some highlights from the meet:

 Caitlyn Keaton and Lisa Osondu placed 3rd and 4th (respectively) in the 400 meter dash.

 Kamorah Castro placed 5th in the 200 meter dash.

 The boys 4x100 meter relay team (DeJon Conway, Raynard Gibson, Reggie Temple, and Latrell Murray) placed 5th.

 Latrell Murray placed 1st in the 110 meter hurdles.

 Malik Williams placed 2nd in the 800 meter run.

 The boys 4x400 meter relay team (Malik Williams, Lamar Overton, Rodney Palmer, and Latrell Murray) placed 4th.

 Please congratulate these athletes on their success. The Track and Field Lions will be back in action April 13th at Eagle’s Landing High School for the Region Tune-Up. This is the last regular meet of the season, so if you have not been able to come out and see the athletes compete, this will be the last in county meet for the athletes, before the region meet at Woodward Academy.
