LHS Track and Field Lions (2018 ELHS Outback Steakhouse Region Tune-Up)
The Track and Field Lions competed in the Outback steakhouse Region Tune-Up meet, Friday, April 13th, at Eagles Landing High School. Below are highlights from the meet:
Jada Blanton placed first in girls high jump (out of 17 competitors) with a jump of 5’4’’.
Chelsea Voltaire achieved a personal best in the girl’s shot put and discus.
The girls 4x100 relay team (Lisa Osondu, Kamorah Castro, Kailah Melson, and Caitlyn Keaton) achieved a team best and placed 8th out of 26 teams.
Caitlyn Keaton placed 4th in the 400 meter dash out of 40 competitors.
Lisa Osondu placed 5th in the 300 meter hurdles out of 28 competitors.
Kamorah Castro placed 10th out of 40 competitors in the 100 meter dash, and Kailah Melson achieved a personal best in the 100 meter dash.
Caitlyn Keaton placed 9th out of 36 competitors in the 200 meter dash.
Kori Coleman and Christopher Mercer achieved personal best in the boy’s shot put.
The Sprint Medley Relay team (Raynard Gibson, James Jones, Kendall Mosely, and Antonio Johnson) achieved a team best.
Hameed Salaam, Nigel McCrea, and Kendall Mosely achieved personal bests in the boys 400 meter dash.
Latrell Murray placed 1st in the boys 110 meter hurdles.
Malik Williams achieved a personal best in the 800 meter run and placed 5th out of 58 competitors.
Please congratulate all out track athletes on their achievements for the season. Our next meet will be Wednesday, April 18th. This is the region meet and the top 4 athletes from each event will move on to compete in the sectionals meet at Blessed Trinity High School, April 28th.
