LHS Track and Field Lions (2018 GHSA Class 4A Sectionals 3,4,7,8)

The track and field athletes competed in the GHSA Class 4A Sectional (Regions 3,4,7,8). The top 8 athletes in each event qualified for the state track meet. We had seven athletes qualify for the state meet. Below are results from the meet:

Girls

• Jada Blanton placed 2nd in the girls high jump (She qualifies for the state meet)
• Kamorah Castro placed 8th in the 100 meter dash (She qualifies for the state meet)
• Caitlyn Keaton placed 5th in the 400 meter dash (She qualifies for the state meet). She also placed 10th in the 200 meter dash.
• Lisa Osondu placed 1st in the 300 meter hurdles (She qualifies for the state meet). She also placed 12th in the 400 meter dash.
• The 4x100 meter relay team (Lisa Osondu, Kamorah Castro, Jada Blanton, Kailah Melson, Caitlyn Keaton) placed 4th and achieved a team best of 49.10 seconds. (They qualify for the state meet)

Boys

• Latrell Murray placed 1st in the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles (He qualifies for the state meet)
• Malik Williams placed 7th in the 800 meter run and achieved a personal best and set a school record with at time of 1:59.24 (He qualifies for the state meet)

These athletes will compete in the GHSA Class 4A State Meet at Berry College in Rome, GA (May 10th - 12th). Please congratulate all the track and field athletes on their accomplishments this season, and we thank you for your support.
