HENRY COUNTY, GA – With the end of the first grading period of the 2020-21 school year fast approaching, district officials are reminding students and families of the scheduled early release dates for this school year.  The first such date is this Friday, October 9.

Early release dates entail students completing half-days while allowing teachers the flexibility to wrap up end-of-the-grading-period work while also planning for the upcoming weeks.

The early release dates for this year are as follows:

  • Friday, October 9, 2020
  • Friday, December 18, 2020
  • Friday, March 12, 2021
  • Wednesday, May 26, 2021

The times each release takes places are as follows:

  • Elementary Schools – 11:25 a.m.
  • High Schools – 12:15 p.m.
  • Middle Schools – 12:55 p.m.

The Afterschool Enrichment Program will be available for elementary schools on early release days for an additional charge above the regular fees.  Interested parents can check with their schools regarding this option.

Transportation services will run regular drop-off routes based on the adjusted times to facilitate students being returned home.
