District Settles 2018 Lawsuit with Former Job Candidate

Civil suit dismisses board members as defendants

HENRY COUNTY, GA – Henry County Schools has received inquiries regarding a two-year-old lawsuit filed in June of 2018 that was completely turned over to the district’s insurance carrier to be handled at that time.  It is our understanding that the matter has been resolved and our official statement is as follows:

The civil action by Dr. Timothy Gadson against the Henry County School District regarding his candidacy for the position of the School Superintendent has been settled by the District’s insurance carrier’s agreement to fund a financial settlement of all claims.  The individual Board members named as defendants in the case (Joshua Hinton, Pam Nutt, and Holly Cobb), were dismissed from the lawsuit and are not parties to the settlement.  The Henry County Board of Education wishes Dr. Gadson the best as he moves forward in future endeavors.
