District leaders get resourceful to interview teaching candidates for next school year

HENRY COUNTY, GA – Uncommon circumstances call for uncommon approaches to support what is normally the time for Henry County Schools’ annual Certified Educator Job Fair.

Originally slated for Saturday, March 21, administrators in the district’s Human Resource Services Division have shifted to a virtual approach to finding exceptional candidates for anticipated job openings in the 2020-21 school year.

Interested applicants must first complete the district’s application which can be found through the Human Resources division tab on the Henry County Schools website.  Once the application is complete, an email should then be sent to expressing interest in one or more of the posted positions found through the same program where the application was completed.

“We recognize the difficult situation that is affecting everyone at this moment, including those seeking employment with our school district,” said Valerie Suessmith, Chief Human Resources Officer.  “We are eager to proceed with our planning and preparation for the ’20-‘21 school year. This includes our spring push to hire the very best educators to impact student achievement.”

Those seeking employment should hold or be eligible for a Georgia Educator Certificate by the start of the 2020-21 school year.

The fastest-improving school district in the Metro Atlanta region is looking for certified educators to join in the ambitious pursuit of becoming the highest-achieving district in the state.  There are several positions HCS officials are looking to fill:

  • K-12 Classroom Teachers
  • CTAE Teachers
  • K-12 Exceptional Student Education Teachers
  • School Psychologists
  • Speech and Language Pathologists ($3,000 supplement)
  • School Counselors ($750-$1,500 supplements)
  • Social Workers

The virtual job fair will remain open through the school district closure.

Henry County Schools is comprised of over 50 schools with 6,000 employees and 43,000+ students attending school each day.
