    We certainly hope that everyone's school year is going great! Our school's theme this year is "Power of Perception"! Perception is so important for it is the way people preceive things that determine their character and attitude. Oakland Elementary's Counseling Department provide the following services:

    A note from Ms. Vanessa McGhee:
    I'm SUPER EXCITED to serve as a counselor here at Oakland Elementary. I have been in the field of education for the past 26 years. I was a classroom teacher for a total of 14 1/2 years. I taught grades 5-8 in the states of Louisiana and Georgia. I began serving as a school counselor in 2008. I primarily work with students in grades 3-5 here at Oakland.  Please feel free to stop by whenever you need. My door is ALWAYS open to you! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
     
    A note from Mrs. Stacy Poythress:
    I'm so excited to serve as your counselor this school year with students in grades PK-2. I have been in education for the past 25 years. I have served in many capacities during these years.
