ELHS 2022-2023 Advisement & Course Registration
Advisement and course registration for the 2022-2023 school year will begin February 14th. Advisement appointments with counselors will be held during the students' cohort (graduation class ex. Cohort 2023) week during the school day in the ELHS Auxiliary Gym. Passes for students will be distributed to students in their 1st period classes. Parent appointments will not begin until March 14th.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ACADEMIC PLANNER AND COURSE SELECTION FORM
During your cohort advisement week, teacher recommendations and course selections will be available in Infinite Campus using the Academic Planner tab. The Academic Planner is NOT the final course selection document. The Academic Planner is used for advisement when completing the course selection form during the student's individual advisement meeting with their specific school counselor and to track progress towards graduation requirements.
COURSE SELECTION FORM
The 2022-2023 Course Request Form will be posted in your Cohort (Graduation Year ex. Class of 2023) Counseling Google Classroom during your cohort advisement week. The course form will be posted as an assignment to complete and turned in via Google Classroom. Use the instructions below to complete the form and return in the Google Classroom. This form is the OFFICIAL course request form and is used for scheduling purposes.
Students will be scheduled for a total of EIGHT courses for their 2022-2023 ELHS schedule. Four courses will be scheduled 1st semester and four courses will be scheduled for the 2nd semester.
Course Selection Form Instructions:
- Complete the top section (Name, Student ID #, etc.)
- Place an X beside the EIGHT courses that the student wishes to take next school year (at least 4 core courses - ELA, MATH, SCIENCE & SOCIAL STUDIES and 4 electives totaling eight courses). You may refer to your Academic Planner for teacher recommendations for levels (honors, AP).
- Choose 3 ALTERNATE elective courses (numbering 1, 2 and 3 in order of preference).
2022-2023 Course Selections will be available in Infinite Campus to view and approve via the 2022-2023 Course Requests tab beginning April 11th.
Remember that two years of the same foreign language courses may be required for admission to a 4 year college or university, even though it is not a graduation requirement. These 8 choices and 3 ALTERNATE choices include academic electives, fine arts, physical education, and CTAE courses. You may not receive your first preferred elective, so choose alternates carefully. Enrollment in honors and advanced placement classes is based upon satisfactory completion of prerequisite courses. The FINAL day to request changes to the 2022-2023 schedule is May 6, 2022.
Parents may request to schedule an advisement meeting with their specific counselor after March 14, 2022 to discuss their current academic status and make any necessary revisions to their graduation planner and course selection. Class of 2025 students will make appointments with their upcoming 10th grade counselor for all 2022-2023 schedule concerns. See the 2022-2023 Student Services Team listing below. Please review a copy of the sample advisement form below:
