Welcome Guest to Mr. Miles' Web PageTeacher Name: Charles MilesSchool Email Address: email@example.comSubjects I Teach: Introduction to Digital Technology___________________________________________________________Hi!
My name is Charles Miles and this is my second year with Hampton High School. I am excited to be a part of an awesome group of educators. I teach Introduction to Digital Technology and serve as Assistant Varsity Football Coach. I received my Associates of Arts degree in Psychology from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Texas A&M University in Kingsville, Texas. I decided to further my education by completing my Masters in Business Administration from University of Phoenix. Currently, I am working towards finalizing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Prior to pursing my educational goals, I played four years of college football at Texas A&I University in Kingsville (currently Texas A&M of Kingsville) as a wide receiver. Moreover, I played professional football in Barcelona, Spain and proudly served 8 years in the United States Army (Airborne Food Service Specialist and Airborne Infantry Soldier).
I pursued my aspiration of becoming an educator in 1995, as a long-term substitute teacher, in Corpus Christi, Texas. My first coaching experience was at Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, as a volunteer assistant varsity basketball coach. Thereafter, I was promoted to head football, basketball, and track coach at the local middle school. During my tenure, we secured a position as Co-Champions in Football, District Champions in Basketball, and several consolation trophies. Later, I progressed on as the Assistant Varsity Football coach (wide receiver) and Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at West Oso High School in Corpus Christi, TX. Under my direction, I was instrumental in helping our team assure a playoff position. I eventually relocated back to my home town in Las Vegas, Nevada and assumed the position of coaching at Rancho High School as a running back coach. Again, we were successful in capturing a playoff position.
Additionally, I have work experience in the fields of social work (Unit Director for Aging and Disabilities facility in Texas), Texas Department of Family and Protective Service (Investigator), Program Administer/Executive Secretary (Texas Youth Commission), and facilitated a myriad of meetings and business affairs (Texas State Volunteer Resource Council).
My mission is simple. I am dedicated to my professional growth in an effort to help acknowledge diversity among students and to assist students in reaching their full potential in areas of social, emotional, behavioral, and academics.
