    Greetings, Parents & Guardians:

I am truly elated to embrace this incredible new year with you and your students.  This 2018-19 year is destined to be one filled with opportunities built upon commitment, dedication, and teamwork for student successes.  As we embark as a team on this exciting journey, your students will actively be engaged in a plethora of learning experiences that will be rigorous, challenging, and, yet, achievable.

To add to the excitement, I am pleased to announce that our class will be a pilot classroom for Personalized Learning.  Personalized learning is designed to build student and teacher capacity by creating individual pathways that will aid in the development of the whole student.  In a personalized learning environment, students practice Democracy by demonstrating voice, choice, planning, reflection, and action; in other words, with the aid of data, learner profiles, and PLP (personalized learning plans), they become facilitators of their own learning.

Parents, please note that in order for this year to be an Eagle-listic Royal (blue) and Golden Personalized Learning success, I and your students highly encourage, welcome, need, and value your added commitment, involvement, and support in the development, progress, and mastery of your students' life-long learning experiences.  Needless to say, it is vital that students take their learning seriously by studying, creating, and completing assignments in a manner consistent with inspiring and achieving academic excellence.

Parents, I challenge you to join me on this quest in "CHANGING LIVES - ONE STUDENT AT A TIME".  Remember, not only does it take a village to raise a child, but it also takes a village to teach one.  Here's to the start of a new beginning of successful ongoing lifelong learning.
