Courses teaching: Biology and High School Transition

First, let me welcome you and your child to my classroom! I am ecstatic to have been afforded this opportunity to teach science at Ola High School. This is my eighth year as a Mustang. I have a passion for what I do and I love helping students realize their true potential. I value education and parental involvement. I married my college sweetheart, an elementary art teacher, and have three incredible kids: a son who is a college graduate and pilot, a son who is a junior in college and full-time recruiter, and a daughter entering freshman year in college to study film production.

Before I became a teacher, I was enrolled in ROTC in college and then proudly served as an engineer officer in the U.S. Army. Once we left Fort Leonard Wood, my wife and I moved back to Georgia. I was hired to be a paraprofessional in a primary school where I worked for the school year. Since I wanted to teach, I interviewed for a high school science position. That was in 1999 and I have been teaching ever since. My experiences include seven years in elementary school, six years in middle school, and ten years in high school. I have degrees from Bainbridge College, Georgia Southwestern, and West Georgia. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy listening to music, hiking, visiting museums, attending football games and other sporting events, reading novels, attending concerts, and spending time with my family. Plus, college football Saturdays are hard to beat. Go Noles and Yellow Jackets! I also follow Formula One, NASCAR, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta United, and Tampa Bay Lightning.
