Mrs. Gail Schwartz
My name is Gail Schwartz & I’m so excited about being your child’s 4th grade Social Studies and Science teacher this year!
I’m originally from New York & grew up in Queens, where I met my husband. We’ve been married since 1996 & we have a daughter who was born in 2004. She graduated from Locust Grove High in 2022 and is currently at Birmingham-Southern College majoring in Stage Management! She even spent this summer working at the camp she went to as a child running the Theatre and helping develop a love of theatre in the campers she worked with.
Some of my favorite things involve spending time with my family, drinking lots of coffee, going to amusement parks (we LOVE Universal), eating sushi, eating chocolate, watching my daughter work her "magic" backstage during a show, and hanging out with friends and family.
I have a Bachelors degree in Drama Studies with a concentration in Literature, as well as a Masters in Elementary Education. I am also certified to teach Social Studies and Math in Middle school. I obtained my gifted endorsement in 2013. I’ve been in education since 1995, and have taught in New York & Georgia. I’ve been working in Henry County since 2006, and my family has lived in Henry since 1999. I’ve taught a variety of grades in elementary school, but this is my first year in 4th grade. I have also taught all grades in middle school, and was a middle school Social Studies teacher 2015-2021. I absolutely LOVE teaching our children!!! This year, I'm SUPER excited to be moving to 4th grade, and teaching Social Studies and Science is a complete bonus. We're going to have so much fun!
I know that if we work together as a team, our students will have a successful year, and be ready for 5th grade and middle school! I expect students to give 110% of their effort in their work each day, as I do. Parents can help by checking that their child has completed work each day, staying current with grades in Infinite Campus at least weekly, and keeping in contact with our team of teachers. Together we can ensure that our scholar has a successful, enriching year!
