Greeting Sixth Grade Students and Parents!
I have been looking forward to meeting you! Now it's time to get started on a new academic journey! In class this year, you can expect to work hard, learn actively, and have loads of FUN! The sixth grade Earth Science curriculum is based on the Georgia Standards of Excellence. The Georgia Standards of Excellence are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills for proficiency in science at the sixth grade level. Technology is heavily infused into the curriculum. The relationship between science, our environment, and our everyday world is crucial to each student’s success and will be emphasized. The Georgia Standards of Excellence will drive instruction. Hands-on, student-centered, and inquiry-based approaches will be the emphases of instruction. This curriculum is intended to show proficiency in science, however, class experiences will extend beyond the curriculum to meet the individual needs of each student.
