I came to Impact Academy in the fall of 2013 from Luella Middle where I served as a teacher, coach, athletic director and counselor over a 9 year period. I have been in education since 2002 and have taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I have taught as a regular education teacher and a special education teacher. Courses I have taught include Business Technology, Personal Fitness/Health, Reading/Writing, Math Support, MS Science, and MS Math. I also served 3 years as a guidance counselor: 1 with Luella Middle and 2 with Imapct Academy. I am excited to be back in the Health and Physical Education world working with the students at Impact.
I am an alumnus of Jackson High School, Gordon College, North GA College & State University, Troy State University, and Lincoln Memorial University. My undergraduate degrees include an Associate degree in Teacher Education and Bachelors in Physical & Health Education. My graduate degrees include a Masters in Counseling & Psychology and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership.
I am a family man and love spending time with my family. My wife, Jessica, and I have 3 children (Journey Elizabeth, Easton Bay, and Archer Ruark). We like to stay active! We love camping, hiking, fishing, kayaking, jogging, cycling, etc. We also enjoy reading and we love our family movie nights.
I began working with the Impact Academy Program in September of 2013. Our program offers students a unique, blended learning opportunity. I am excited to be a member of this growing team of educators and count myself blessed to be a part of such an innovative educational program. The flexibility we offer students and families in Henry County is a benefit that meets the needs of many.
Impact Academy is a fantastic program for many students in our county. If I can do anything to help you be more successful please contact me.Keep Moving ,Coach Watts(971) 2-IMPACT or (971) 246-7228
