Mission Statement:  

Rock Spring Elementary School Chess Club's mission is to promote chess as an educational and engaging after-school activity.

Goals:  

• To inspire a love for the game of chess
• To build chess-playing skills & strategies
• To teach other students how to play chess
• To attend the county chess tournament in May

"Check Mate!"  We love hearing those words in Chess Club!  Welcome to the web page of Rock Spring Elementary School's Chess Club!  This club provides an after school opportunity for students to engage in playing the challenging game of chess. It is currently open to all 2nd through 5th grade students who already know how to play the game.  Chess Club has been part of RSE for many, many years and we are SO excited to get started!    

Chess Club meets each Monday from 2:45 to 3:45.  Our first chess club meeting will be on Monday, August 29, 2022, and our final meeting/party on May 15, 2023. Students who want to join the club have to fill out a Parent Permission Slip (see link below) & return it to their teacher. We love to show our chess club spirit by wearing chess club t-shirts each TUESDAY. More information will be coming home to our chess club members so be on the lookout.
