Personalized Learning at LGHS
Locust Grove High School is excited to launch its Personalized Learning initiative. Personalized learning will provide our students with increased voice and choice as their lessons become more individualized; our goal is to help each student graduate college, career, and life ready.

We began this journey in 2015, with some our students participating in Project Based Learning and Service Based Learning. In the spring of 2016, ninth graders participated in student-led conferences and took their first steps towards ownership of their learning. Students in grades nine and ten are assigned to houses that best match their career or fine arts interests; the teachers in each house will collaborate to ensure that course work connections are apparent to students. In 2017, we are incorportating our Houses into our Instrutional Focus classes through Passion Projects.
- Center Stage: Audio/Visual Technology, Band, Chorus, Theatre
- Community and Commerce: Business, Early Childhood Education, Law and Justice
- Cultivating Wellness: Agricultural Sciences, Food and Nutrition, Healthcare Science
- House of Design: Architecture, Art, Engineering, Web Design
We look forward to working with our parents and community to ensure that we are meeting the needs of all of our students at LGHS.
Special thanks to Mike Ryan, who kindly created this video, along with his son Coleman, so we could share our vision with our community.
