Mr. Floyd McRae, Assistant Principal
Mr. Floyd F. McRae, II was born in New York City and was raised in Long Island, New York and in New Jersey (Newark and East Orange). After graduating from high School, he attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he received his B.S. degree in Biology. In 1992, he began his teaching/coaching career at Westlake High School (Atlanta, Ga) as a ninth grade science teacher and boys’ basketball coach. As a classroom teacher, Mr. McRae taught science classes such as: AP Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Accelerated Anatomy and Physiology, Honors Biology, Honors Physical Science, Microbiology, Meteorology and Genetics. He was nominated Teacher of the Year in 1998 at Westlake HS and Crystal Apple Teacher of the Year in 1999 and 2000 at Creekside High School (Fairburn, Ga); He was also selected to Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 1999 and has taught a great deal of students that continued their education in some of the top graduate and medical schools in the country. To further his education, Mr. McRae matriculated to graduate school and received his Masters (2006) and Specialists Degree (2008) from Troy University (Phenix City, Alabama) in Educational Leadership.
