Mrs. Kristin Davis

Welcome to 3rd grade!  Your child's year is going to be full of exciting learning opportunities, fun and challenging team building activities, and making memories that will last a lifetime.  I am very excited to be a part of this new adventure with you--even if it means wading into new waters together!

All of my students will learn about me over the course of the year, but here are a few things you may want to know.  This is my 7th year at Unity Grove.  However, this is my first year teaching 3rd grade.  Prior to this year, I taught 5th grade at UGE.  I've also taught 2nd grade and kindergarten at other Henry County Schools.  I am a graduate of Gordon State University--Go Highlanders!!  I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and Special Education.  I've also gone "back to school" and gotten endorsements in Gifted Education and Mathematics.  My future plans consist of getting my Master's Degree (university undecided still) to help make me a better teacher and teacher leader.

I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, Stephen.  We've been married for 13 years now.  We have three children, Addison (4th grader at UGE), Ava (1st grader at UGE), and Audrey (3 yr. old).  As a family, we enjoy watching movies, going to the beach and the mountains, being at the soccer field and spending time together--especially watching America's Funniest Videos and Family Fued!  We are also very active in our church, where I lead our praise team/band and my husband works as a sound tech. Independently, I love to read, watch police/crime shows, and hang out with friends.  My husband and I also enjoy going on short vacations to old, historic cities, finding good local restaurants that serve delicious food (not chains!!) and riding his motorcycle.

It is my goal to be of service to each student within my classroom. I know this year will be different.  However, I aim to make it the best it can be.  My mantra is this:  You CAN do hard things! "Hard" things make us stronger, smarter, and kinder.  This will be my slogan this school year.

I am also a HUGE believer in TEAMWORK--teachers, students, and parents.  If there is ever a time that I can help in some way, please do not hesitate to seek me out!  I truly hope that everyone has a successful, fun, and memorable year!!
