" Success does not lie in results but in efforts. Being the best is not so important, doing your best is all that matters."

Welcome to an exciting 2019-2020 school year! My name is Jessica Coleman and this is my sixth year teaching at Austin Road Elementary. I have taught second grade, third grade, and this will be my first year teaching fourth grade! I received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Special Education from Gordon State College. I am certified in Gifted Education and taught TAG students for two years. I am currently working on obtaining my Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southwestern State University. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and cultivating a love of learning in my students. I also enjoy reading, crafting, shopping, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.

It is my mission to challenge and engage all students to make real-world connections through the use of technology and rigorous hands-on experiences. As your child's teacher, I want you to know that I will go above and beyond to ensure success in all students while promoting a positive learning environment full of encouragement and growth. I hope you are as thrilled as I am to be a part of the AMAZING Austin Road Elementary family where we, administrators, staff members, parents, teachers and students, reach for excellence in everything we do!

Finally, I want you to know that one of my most important goals is to keep the lines of communication open with my parents. Parental involvement is essential to your child's academic success! You are always welcome to visit or volunteer in our classroom. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions and/or concerns at any time. I will return all calls and emails within 24 hours. I am extremely excited to have your child in my class this year, and I am looking forward to a successful school year full of teaching, leading, and learning
