Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome Wildcat Family,
School Closure Assignments:
I have placed all the assignments for our remote learning days under the School Closure Assignment tab.
I will be hosting Google meets at 1:30 PM every Tuesday and Thursday.
Located below is the information you will need to connect to the Google meets.
My expectations are that each student print or document their own activity for each day and submit it by the end of the week. The standard we will focus on over this period of time will be PE-3: Participates regularly in physical activity.
My name is DJ Smith, although around the Wildcat hallways I am better know as Coach. Throughout the year I have the honor of being involved with the Wildcat extra curricular activities. I coach the High school Cross Country and Track team, as well as lead the young men of distinction mentoring program.
I am a proud graduate of Valdosta State University, where I received my degree in Kinesiology, with concentration of Health and Physical Education. At Valdosta State University I had the privilege of running Cross Country.
Before coming to Locust Grove Elementary I was invested in the YMCA. I spent three years as an after school site director, and lead staff camp counselor.
Being active and healthy transitions into my lifestyle, as my wife Ashlyn and I enjoy running, camping and going to the beach!
This will be my seventh year at Locust Grove Elementary, as the Health and Physical Education teacher, and I am ecstatic to begin this new school year with you! I believe every student has the ability to learn. As an educator, it is my passion to promote healthy and active living. I consider it my duty to energetically give each child the knowledge to make healthy food and exercise choices.
