    Hello! I would like to introduce myself to all of my student’s parents. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. After I graduated from high school, I followed a family tradition and entered the Army. I served 3 years with the 82nd Airborne Division with several visits overseas. After the Army, I went into law enforcement. I was with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office for 25 years until I retired in 2004. While I was with the Hall County Sheriff Office, I was lucky to work in a variety of assignments ranging from Patrol Officer, SWAT Team Leader, Underwater Search and Rescue Team and Drug Taskforce Officer. During my  time in law enforcement I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Brenau University and my Master’s of Education from the University of Phoenix.

    I decided on a second career as a teacher and I was lucky to be hired to work for Henry County. The first four years I worked at Luella Middle School where I taught (at various times) all grade levels and all subjects. At Locust Grove Middle School I am in the Special Education Department and I currently teach language arts.  At the present time, I am working on my Doctor of Education (E.Ed) from Walden University and I expect to complete the degree in approximately 1 year.

    I am married to my wonderful wife Lynn who also works at Locust Grove Middle School as the Counseling Office secretary. We like working at the same school so we have more time together. We like to work in the yard together and plan to do a lot to our yard this year. We also like to travel. I like the mountains and she likes the seashore. We try to do both so that both of us are happy.

    We have one cat at home at this time. His name is Climber and he runs the house. As anyone who has cats know, it is their house and we are there just to serve them.   Remember, dogs have “owners”, but cats have “staff”.
