Information for Mr. Vanderford's CLASSES for the 2018-19 school year

I will be serving this year as a classroom facilitator for students taking online courses on campus during the school day.  This means that, during any given period, the students who sit in my classroom will be individually working toward the completion of the required work for a wide array of different courses.  One of the reasons I was placed in this position is that, thanks to the breadth of my academic experience, I will be able to be an instructional asset to the majority of these students--and I intend to work to the best of my ability to fulfill that mission.

Hello!  My name is Kerry Vanderford, and Thank you for taking the time to visit my teacher page!  The opening of the 2018-19 school year marks the beginning of my 15th year as a member of the faculty of Luella High School - and the first in which I have not been a member of the Math Department.  (More about that in a moment)  In addition to my work with my classes, I am also the lead sponsor of the LHS Academic Team, and I am excited to be entering my 14th year serving in that capacity.  If you are a student (or a parent), and you are reading this because you (or your child) are considering joining the Academic Team - - Thank you (!) for your interest, but please allow me to direct you to the page specifically for "the A-Team," which appears under the "Activities" tab on the Luella HS website.
As you may have read above, I am taking on a new role this year - that of being one of the classroom facilitators for the students here at LHS who are taking online courses during a period of their school day.  This is a first for me in the 25-plus years of my career in education, but I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of this relatively new aspect of the everyday school setting.  If you are an LHS student, and you are reading this because you are going to be in my room during this school year, then . . . Welcome!  I hope that you will allow me to assist you as you work toward the completion of your course, whatever it may be.  If you are reading this because you are a parent whose son or daughter is going to be in the classroom with me this year, then Welcome to you too!  I hope that I will have the chance to meet you in person at some point during the course of the year, but, whether that occurs or not, please allow me to encourage you to contact me (at the email address provided above) at any time that you may have a question (or concern) regarding how your child is doing.  I hope that, together, we can help your child to have a successful academic experience this year!
