Luella VolleyballLady Lions Volleyball is beginning is 13th year of competition. This season marks the second year playing in Area 2AAAA for the team. The goal of the Lady Lions Volleyball team is to teach and train young ladies on how to play competitive volleyball through our 9th grade, junior Varsity and Varsity programs. Along with this the young ladies are are taught how to represent themselves and Luella High School with respect and loyalty. The volleyball team participates in 18 Varsity matches, 13 JV and 9th grade matches each season in an effort to win an Area title and compete in the State Tournament. The Lady Lions made it to state for the 8 times and to the sweet sixteen twice.Tryouts for 2018-2019 season are in May of 2018. The dates will be announced at a later time. Anyone interested in trying out must have current physical as well as the rest of the required paperwork. Anyone interested in trying out must all days of tryouts. Jarrett-Roberts, Head Coach, Program DirectorCoach Jarrett is starting her 14th year as the Head Coach the Lady Lions and 13th season with the team. Coach Jarrett-Roberts is originally from Effingham, Illinois where she attended St. Anthony High School and was 4 year letter winner. She was name All-State Honorable mention as a senior and received a variety of all county and region honors. Coach Jarrett-Roberts attended Parkland College in Champaign, IL for one year and then transferred to Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, KY. She is a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College where she was a three year starter and record holder. She then later became the Head Coach at KWC for 2 years. She has also coached for area clubs such as Southern Fury, Fusion and A5 South. In 2012 COahc Jarrett-Roberts received a masters from Georgia Southern.Darbi Wilson, Head JV Coach, Asst. Varsity Coach
Coach Wilson is starting in her 6th year as the head JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach.
Her own volleyball career started when she was a sophomore in high school and she played for Coach Jarrett!
She continued her career through her senior year and received a scholarship to play at Andrew College.
She played 2 years of college volleyball. Since her time at Andrew she has now coached for club volleyball (A5 South and Tsunami), high school, and middle school volleyball. Coach Wilson works at Luella Middle School as a Para Professional.
