A Message from our Principal, Ms. C. Jewell
Welcome to the opening of what promises to be a wonderful school year! Our theme for this school year is, “Oh the places we’ll go!” It reminds us that anything is possible! Without ignoring the basic fact of life that everything does not always go ideally, we are encouraged to get out there and make things happen for our students and families!!
As always, we are working to improve the academic learning of each and every student. This year we are working very strategically to improve our achievement and growth as a school community. We need your help as parents to help us meet these goals. Our greatest priority for you as parents is to support your child’s love of reading by reading with and to them at home every night.
In addition, please allow your child to participate in our Accelerated Reader and First in Math program. Each student has a goal and you can help your child meet his/her goal by allowing him/her to participate at home. If you are in need of additional academic materials or have any questions about these programs, be sure to contact your child’s teacher and/or our parent liaison, Cassandra Doss.
As parents, you play an integral role as a part of this family in the education of your child. Your involvement in your child’s education will help your child achieve more success and have a positive outlook on school. Please be sure to read the monthly newsletters and calendars that are on our website. Get to know your child’s teacher and stay updated on classroom and school events. I’d also like to encourage you to join our Parent Teacher Organization that actively supports our staff in providing our children with the best educational experience and learning opportunities possible.
I eagerly look forward to greeting students and families again. It remains an honor and privilege to serve as your principal. Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all children.
Keeping Children First,
