A Message from our Principal, Ms. C. Jewell
Dear SES Family,
Hello and welcome back! Words cannot express the level of excitement and anticipation I have for this upcoming school year. The Stockbridge Staff and I promise to work hard to ensure the best education possibilities are presented to your children. This year, our school district’s motto is “Expect Exceptional.” We will accomplish this by constantly scanning our learning environment for the positive. This will allow us to approach the work with happiness, gratitude, and optimism.
SES takes great pride in creating an educational atmosphere where students can learn in a caring and nurturing environment. Together our staff encourages students to engage in a lifelong love of learning. Teachers will regularly collaborate, analyze data, plan instruction, and develop common assessments to ensure student achievement is attained throughout each grade level. We will also continue to focus on the use of integrating technology in all content areas.
During the upcoming school year I encourage you to take an active role in your child’s learning. Parent involvement plays a critical role in our school’s success. Ways to support and increase your child’s academic success include:
- Make attendance a PRIORITY including limiting tardiness, check-outs, and absences
- Communicate often with your child’s homeroom teacher
- Read with your child at least 20 minutes a day
- Limit television and social media, encourage outside play
- Review the school day with your child
As part of Henry County Schools’ focus on safety, all visitors will be required to enter through the front doors, sign in, show ID, and display a visitor’s badge. Once the school day begins at 7:45 a.m. all doors will be locked and parents will only be allowed to visit classes by making an appointment. Thank for your support and for working with us to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
It is an honor and privilege to serve as your principal. Together, I know we will make this year one of growth and achievement. The staff and I are looking forward to an educationally rewarding and marvelous school year with you and your children. #ExpectExceptional
Keeping Children First,
Mrs. Cynthia S. Jewell
