Meet Mr.Ausmore, Sr.
My name is Jermaine T. Ausmore, Sr. and I am truly humbled to introduce myself as the new principal of Stockbridge Elementary School. I am originally from Trenton, New Jersey, however, I graduated from Westlake High School in Fulton County. I attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia where I served as Student Body President during my senior year. Morris Brown is a very special place for me because it where I discovered my passion for service. It is also where I met my wife of 17 years Mrs. Dena Ausmore. I earned my teacher’s certification from Georgia State University and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Teachers College at Columbia University. Dena and I have three children that each attend Henry County Public Schools. My sons, Jermaine Jr. and Noah, are Locust Grove Middle School and Unity Grove Elementary School students. My daughter Imani is an 11th-grade student at Locust Grove High School.
I come to you with 18 years of experience as a teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. Yet my drive to serve as a school leader comes from my passion to ensure all children receive a world class education. Prior to becoming a principal, I spent 12 years teaching 2nd through 5th grade and 2 years as an instructional coach. Most recently I have served as an Assistant Principal at Unity Grove Elementary School in Locust Grove, Georgia. This work has prepared me to lead with enthusiasm, credibility, and respect. I will use my experience to continue the positive momentum created by our outgoing principal, Ms. Cynthia Jewell. Stockbridge is truly a school on the rise and I am excited to lead this work. My aim is to make Stockbridge Elementary a model for growth, equity and care, where everyone is aware of our goals and work collaboratively to achieve them.
Again I am humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to serve this community. I look forward to getting to know you all as well as our students. I believe my first responsibility is to promote the best interests of our students by putting our teachers in the best possible position to succeed. I look forward to meeting all of you and invite you to contact me with any questions or ideas you would like to share.
