Hello! My name is Coach Norman. I am excited and proud to be your child's PE teacher. This is my 13th year teaching at Stockbridge Elementary. Physical Education is a process of learning through physical activities designed to improve physical fitness, develop motor skills, knowledge and behavior of healthy and active living, sportsmanship, and emotional intelligence. Physical Education is not only aimed at physical development but also includes the development of the student as a whole. I want our students to enjoy physical education and at the same time learn how to be healthy inside and outside of the classroom. As our students are growing and progressing, my goal for them is to develop self respect for themselves and continue healthy living as they grow older.Parents in order to make PE safe, please have your child wear gym shoes (tennis shoes) to PE. Gym shoes provide better foot support and comfort during physical activity. Sandals, flip flops, and any kind of dress shoes are not safe. These shoes do not provide good foot and ankle support. A student is more likely to experience injury with these shoes. Please learn your child's schedule so they can wear safe shoes (gym shoes) to PE.Students during these weeks away from school please coninue to do your regular stretches and exercises that we do at the beginning of class. Also, do your locomotor skills daily, such as running, hopping, and skipping.Students for this week's PE assignment (April 20th-24th), I would like for you to click on the following link for your daily PE activity each day this week. Here's the link:P.E With Joe. The PE teacher that is online will have activities provided for you everyday this week Enjoy and stay physically fit!
