We're very excited for our adventures this school year!  We look forward to working with students, parents, and related service providers to give students the best educational experience possible.  The students in our class are kindergarteners, first and second graders diagnosed with autism or significant developmental delay.  Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Hough have been working together for 15 years! We have been through training from the Marcus Autism Center, Griffin RESA, and Henry County Schools.  We focus on improving skills in the areas of self-management, communication, academics, vocational skills, recreation/leisure skills, motor skills, and social skills.  We also participate in community based instruction to work on IEP goals when not in a pandemic.  Our class will spend time with regular education peers and teachers during innovation stations. We use the Teachtown curriculum to incorporate academic subjects and standards.  We will be participating in numerous Special Olympics events throughout the school year as Covid-19 restrictions allow.
