     WELCOME TO ONLINE P.E.!!!!

Assignments are updated daily.  If you have any questions, please email me.

Our focus over the next several weeks is to stay active, stay moving, and stay healthy! I will have fitness videos posted, which the students will need to be actively engaged in.  I will also post other resources that are fun and interactive ways in getting you to move.  Everything that we do are ways to get your heart rate up and your muscles pumping while at home.  Parents please join in with your child, if possible.

    Health Facts of the Day:

    3/30

Running is good for you.  People who run 12-18 miles a week have a stronger immune system.

Stretching increases the blood flow in your muscles and helps avoid injuries.

    3/27

Walking outside can reduce negative thoughts and boost self-esteem.

By walking at a fast pace for three hours or more at least once a week, you can reduce your risk of heart disease by up to 65%.

    3/26

Chewing gum make you more alert, relieves stress, and reduces anxiety levels.

Yoga can boost your cognitive function (mind) and lowers stress.

    3/25

Your skin works hard. Not only is it the largest organ in the body, but it defends against disease and infection, regulates your temperature and aids in vitamin production.

Maintaining good relationships with family and friends is good for your health, memory and longevity.

    3/24

The body has more than 650 muscles.

An apple a day does keep the doctor away.  Apples can reduce levels of bad cholesterol to keep your heart healthy.  I had an apple yesterday for a snack!

    3/23

It is recommended that children ages 6-17 years do 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity daily.

A person will have to walk the length of a football field in order to burn off the calories consumed in ONE M&M!  Oh boy!  I might need to cut down on my M&M consumption!  :)

One can of Coke contains nearly 10 teaspoons of sugar!  One of the major changes I made in my diet 6 years ago was cutting out on drinking Coca-Cola.  I used to drink about 3 Cokes a day!!

    3/20

Exercise will give you more energy, even when you're tired.  That is so true!  On many occasions when I am tired and I make myself exercise, I start feeling much better after about 5 minutes.

Laughing is good for the heart and can increase blood flow by 20 percent.  So, laugh often my friends!

    3/19

A single sneeze can send 100,000 germs into the air.

A cough can travel as fast as 50 mph and expel almost 3,000 droplets in just one go.

Remember to cover your mouth and nose and wash your hands often!
