My name is Glenda Torres, and it's a privilege to be part of the World Language Department at Woodland High School teaching Spanish I, and0 Spanish II this school year 2019 - 20. I'm native from Puerto Rico. I've been living in Georgia for almost sixteen years.
I graduated from "Colegio Presbiteriano de Puerto Nuevo", private high school.  I graduated with a B.S from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus in Speech & Language Therapy. In 1996, I earned my M.S. with honors in Speech & Language Pathology from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. I worked for 14 years in Isaac Gonzalez Elementary School in Puerto Rico as the Speech Language Therapist and Pathologist working with deaf, mental retardation and learning disabled children.
In 2004, my family and I moved to Georgia, and began a new adventure in our lives.  I began my teaching career in Morrow, Georgia at Mount Zion Christian Academy, a K--12 Christian school. There I was known as the Spanish teacher, and my life was turned around. I started to work at Woodland High School the second semester of 2009 - 2010. This year I'll start my 14th year teaching Spanish, and I'm loving it every day more and more! ¡Viva el español! I also collaborate with Señora Chinn in the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish Honor Society). I coached JV and Varsity volleyball for 5 years.
