My Educational Philosophy
As a facilitator, I believe to truly ensure success for every learner is to help advance student knowledge in a manner that will have a positive impact on society. By using a variety of instructional strategies, methodologies, and resources, I believe all students can experience success. I believe that an effective educator provides developmental appropriate resources necessary for students to build their educational independence and make their own way in the world. They provide structure and encourage them to set high expectations for themselves. I am a facilitator who guides students to explore and make their own discoveries. I encourage academic and personal growth by motivating students to take ownership of their progress. I am a mentor who models what it means to have pride in one’s work. I model and display the work of others that exemplify the quality of work I expect. I create an engaging classroom, where we honor one another’s unique ideas, beliefs, and celebrating our successes. These beliefs will surely cultivate a lifelong love of learning.
As an effective educator, I not only foster the educational and moral development of my students but also make it a priority to foster the continued growth of their own learning. Through self-evaluations, professional development, and the pursuit of higher education, learning is a way to fine-tune one’s craft and stay current on the latest trends in education. This will ensure that the learning community is enriched with a wealth of knowledge. In addition, this will ensure that all who enter your ream of academia will have another perspective that will ensure success and transform society.
My personal educational philosophy about teaching, learning, and leading provides the optimal opportunity for discovery, ownership, and success. This opportunity, whether it is in a brick and mortar or virtual learning community, will cultivate a love of learning within each student who will grow to be successful scholars that will transform society.
