Special Announcement Regarding Remote LearningWe have made it to the end of remote learning during the 2020 COVID19 Pandemic! I hope you and your family enjoy some wonderful time this summer relaxing and having some fun!As I always do at the end of each year, I recommend you keep your child engaged in some type of reading activities (books, sight words) as well as some math each day (math facts)--even if it is for just 20 to 30 minutes. It will really make a difference!Stay safe and see you in the fall!(Once on site, scroll down, choose grade level, and subject to access learning videos)I am so excited to be working with several grade levels in reading and math as a teacher with the Early Intervention Program (EIP). The EIP program is designed to serve students who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining academic grade level. The purpose of the Early Intervention Program is to provide additional instructional resources to help students who are performing below grade level obtain the necessary academic skills to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time.As a certified teacher, I collaborate with the regular classroom teachers to provide supplementary instruction based on the needs of each student. My main focus is working in small groups for reading and math. We work on catching up to grade-level reading expectations for phonics, sight words, word attack skills, comprehension skills, and test-taking strategies. In math, we work on catching up to grade-level expectations in number sense, counting & addition/subtraction strategies, problem-solving, math reasoning, and various other concepts such as fractions, money, geometry, etc. You are welcome to any of the resources I have on my webpage, or email me if you need any further information.I am also one of the teacher sponsors of our Chess Club here at RSE. You can find more information about the RSE Chess Club under the "Activities" tab at the top of the school web page.I hope this school year is the best year ever for our Rock Spring Roadrunners!!(To access online ELA resources provided by RSE)
