I am so excited for the coming year at Ola Middle School. Last year was an interesting year, and while we learned and grew through the many challenges, I am looking forward to a "normal" school year at OMS.  Many of you will be familiar faces, but I also look forward to meeting lots of new students. This year I will be teaching Sixth Grade Social Studies on Team 603. I cannot wait to bring social studies alive for my students as we learn and explore together.

    A little about me...

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am very proud to be at Ola Middle School again this year, and I am anticipating a wonderful year with you and your child.

I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an ESOL endorsement and earned my Masters of Science in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University.  I added my Gifted Endorsement in April of 2014. I have previously taught 2nd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. I am certified to teach elementary, all middle school academic subjects, and math from elementary through high school.  I am currently working toward my EdS (Specialist Degree in Education) in Media and Instructional Technology through the University of West Georgia.

I am married with two children. My husband, Ed Griffis, also teaches 6th grade math at Ola Middle School. We have two sons, Ethan and Evan.  They are both full-time college students. Ethan will be earning his bachelor's degree in December, and Evan will be starting his junior year at UGA in August.

I truly believe that communication is the key to a great parent-teacher-student relationship. I will send regular newsletters via email and will have information on my webpage.

Please feel free to contact me as any questions or concerns may arise. Email is probably the best/fastest way to get a message to me.
