    Welcome to the McDonough High School Cross Country page!!!.

    Cross Country is an intense, team oriented, running sport. In the sport teams of runners compete to complete a course over open or rough terrain faster than other teams.

    Our Cross Country program provides instruction and training for runners of all levels and abilities.  You do not need experience to participate! As part of the team runners will learn to improve their skills as well as learn the value of team work and sportsmanship.

    Cross Country running develops high quality aerobic endurance, flexibility, coordination and muscle strength, thus building a strong foundation for other sports such as track. Cross Country training fosters self-discipline, self-confidence, and responsibility.

    Our athletes learn to strive for excellence, and to face challenges with courage.  Our goal is for our runners to gain an understanding, that if they do their very best, then there are no failures.
