Hello! My name is Linda Stern. This is my 6th year teaching art at  Wesley Lakes Elementary. YEAH!

It is my10th year teaching in Henry County. This year I teach Art at only one school - Wesley Lakes Elementary! The past 5 years all art and music teachers taught at two schools. This is a wonderful change. I love teaching at Wesley Lakes Elementary and getting to know each of our kids.

I have loved art and music since I was a child. It is my goal to inspire your child with the same appreciation. The Visual Arts program teaches children many things as it focuses upon the language of Art: the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design. Emphasis is placed upon production and discussion of Art using this language (line, shape, color, space, texture, form and value). The curriculum is based upon Georgia's Visual Arts Standards and our new National Visual Arts Standards.

Please do not be surprised if art work does not come home regularly. It is very hard to complete a project in less than 3 weeks. Art works are kept in a portfolio for safekeeping and opportunities for in-house shows until the end of the year. I encourage you to have conversations with your student about their art work and studio activities.

This year only two classes in our school will have the opportunity to go on a field trip to the High Museum. Your homeroom teacher will notify you of that information as the time approaches. One of the best parts of the High's program is the Welcome Back cards. Each student who attends will receive a card which grants free admission for the student and their family. I hope you take advantage of their generosity. Please don't lose the card!

I want you to know you are always welcome to visit our busy studio. (I appreciate it if you contact me in advance to make those arrangements.) Here's to another great year of ART adventures!
