Welcome to Ms. Chryssochoos'
First Grade Class Web Page!
Hello! My name is Ms. Chryssochoos. I attended Allgood Elementary School, Redan High School, The University of Georgia (A.B.), Georgia State University (M.S.), Mercer Unversity (Teacher Certification Program), Nova Southeastern University (Ed.S), and completed my gifted education and dyslexia endorsement programs. I come from a family of educators. My father was a professor in the business school at Georgia State University. My oldest sister retired from Gwinnett County Schools and served as a parapro, first grade teacher, and assistant principal. Now, she supervises and coaches teacher candidates. My other sister retired last year after 35 years as a first grade in a Cobb County. My brother, a Georgia Tech graduate, is employed with Newport News Shipbuilding. He manages projects and works with ship design with the United States Navy.
I have three children. My daughter, Daria, graduated from the Honors Program at the University of Georgia in 2019 as is currently employed as a Budget Analyst for the State of Georgia. My son, Alex, is a senior at the University of Georgia in the Turf Management Program. My youngest son, Philip, is a 12th grader at Union Grove High School. He plays lacrosse for Wolverine's Men's Lacrosse Team and also plays lacrosse competitively on travel teams in the summer.
Teaching is a second career for me. I began teaching in Henry County in 2003, and I have been here at Timber Ridge Elementary since it opened in 2006. Meeting my new students at the beginning of each year is an exciting time for me. I enjoy seeing children learn and grow. Welcome to my first grade classroom!
