I earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Lamar University in Texas and worked as a Design Engineer and Project Task Engineer for over 17 years with DuPont, the Department of Energy, Westinghouse, Monsanto, and Bechtel Engineering. While working in industry, I tutored and mentored students in reading, math, and science. I opted for a career change to the field of education. I have been teaching for 10 years. The subjects that I teach are middle grades Science, Math, Engineering & Technology, and Business & Computer Science. I have a MAT in Middle Grades Math and Science from Georgia State University. I enjoy teaching and learning. I believe that all students are capable of achieving and excelling in academic excellence. I also believe that the connection between math, science, and creativity (engineering) and real-world application of these concepts to our everyday existence and experiences are significant and awesome and should be shared through teaching, learning, and inquiry.
