My name Ms. Desiree J. Atherley and I from the Republic of Panama. I began my career in education in 2014, in Adult Education. There I taught ESOL classes and GED classes. I then transitioned to teaching Spanish in 2018. I enjoy sharing my love for history, culture, languages, customs, and traditions.
In Panama, I attended a school in my neighborhood, Instituto Bilingüe Cristo de los Milagros. I then transferred to the school where my mom worked as the school librarian, St. Mary's School, in Balboa. My sisters and I spent a lot of time at that school. And with my dad always stressing the importance of an education, I truly believe those two factors greatly influenced my two sisters and I to become educators.
In my free time I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family and friends, reading, and working on crafts.
