Mr. Jimmy McDuffie


Jimmy McDuffie is currently the music teacher at Ola Elementary. He graduated from Young Harris College in 2022 with a Bachelor's in Music Education and a minor in history.  Mr. McDuffie acted as the president of the Young Harris Chapter of CNAfME in the 2019-2020 Academic Year. He is an active member of Mu Phi Epsilon, a music honor society, and Phi Alpha Theta, a history honor society. He has participated in many performing ensembles throughout the state of Georgia. He was a member of the Brasstown 5, a brass quintet, which was selected to perform at the 2022 Georgia Music Educators Conference. He participated with the Kennesaw State University Tuba Euphonium ensemble, which performed at the International Tuba Euphonium Conference in 2019.  He was a member of the Piedmont College Community Band from 2016-2018, as well as various Young Harris Ensembles throughout the duration of his time at Young Harris College. He is also a current member of the Georgia Wind Symphony.

Mr. McDuffie is an avid fan of Indycar.  In fact, he named his dog after his favorite driver: Pato O'Ward. He also enjoys hiking with his fiancée and is currently working on visiting all of the state parks.  Another thing he can not live without is coffee, which he grinds and makes every morning.

Mr. McDuffie is very excited about beginning this new year and making music with all of Ola Elementary's amazing students!  Go Colts!!!
