    Hello Ola Family,

    Welcome to 7th grade... I'm so excited about the start of the school year!  My name is Mr. Stanley and I will be your Social Studies teacher.  This is my second year teaching and second year at Ola Middle.  In addition to teaching, I coach cross country, basketball, and track at Ola Middle.  Prior to teaching, I spent 25 years with the Target Corporation as an executive manager.  I believe my past work experience brings a fresh and unique perspective to the classroom.  

    I attended Eastern Michigan University where I received a post-baccurlate certificate in secondary education (Social Studies) in 2021.  I completed my student teaching at Oak Valley Middle School in Commerece Township, Michigan.  I also have a bachelors degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

    I have a son who is 23 and recently married.  Hayden and his wife Morgan currently own "Fire and Ice" restaurant on Jackson Lake.  On the weekends/summers I spend my time helping out at the restaurant.  If I have free time, I enjoy golfing or spending it on the lake with friends and family.

    As a parent and teacher, I truly understand the importance of an outstanding education.  I also understand that your student is your first priority.  I promise they will receive a first-class education and one that will help prepare them for the future.  As a social studies teacher, I want my students to be active in their school and community.  If you have a question or concern, please don't hesitate to reach out.  I'm looking forward to meeting you!
