Welcome to Ms. Hurtte's Page
I am so pleased to have the opportunity to work with your child this semester in British Literature at the Academy for Advanced Studies. I assure you that I will work hard to ensure success for every student.
I would like to introduce myself. I began my teaching career in 1999 at Henry County Middle School where I taught 7th Grade Language Arts. In 2001, I moved to Union Grove Middle School where I taught 8th Grade Language Arts. In 2008, I earned my secondary education certification and moved to Union Grove High School where I taught 9th Grade Literature and Composition, American Literature, and Journalism until 2019.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education in 1999 from Clayton State University. I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2002 from Piedmont College and my Educational Specialist Degree from Nova Southeastern University. I am also certified in both gifted education and reading.
This course will focus on reading, writing, and vocabulary, but students will also develop the skills needed to succeed in college and careers including communication skills, executive skills, presentation skills, and critical thinking skills.
Additional information about this course is provided in my class syllabus. Should you have questions or concerns I look forward to and hope that you will feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at email@example.com. To schedule a conference, please contact your child’s counselor.
I’m so excited about this semester, and I look forward to getting to know both you and your child.
