I am humbled, honored, and proud to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Unity Grove Elementary. My love for teaching is the reason I am most excited about this new role. I may serve in a different capacity, but it is my goal to positively impact as many students as I can. In order to do that, all stakeholders have to work together towards the common goal of student achievement.

I have spent over fourteen years working in the field of education. I am certified in Early Childhood Education grades (P-5). I have also obtained my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as my Specialist in Curriculum, Instruction, Management, and Administration. Furthermore, I have my gifted endorsement and I am always looking for new opportunities to develop professionally. My passion, enthusiasm, dedication, and knowledge has earned me the title of Teacher of the Year. It has also afforded me the opportunity to learn and grow from some of the best leaders in the county. My participation and experience in the Henry County Schools A.S.P.I.R.E leadership program has helped shape me into the leader I am today. As the Assistant Principal, I will work to develop the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally through fostering meaningful relationships.

When I am not helping to shape the minds of our future, I enjoy spending time with my husband of 11 years, and our 4 children. Being their mom has had the biggest influence on me as an educator. I want every child to have a learning experience I would expect for my own children. That experience includes high rigor, relevant, engaging activities, and a safe, nurturing environment. I look forward to working alongside Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Durden, and the entire UGE staff. With our combined efforts, teamwork, and open communication, I am confident our students will experience academic success.
