    Welcome to Marketing! Marketing Communication and Promotions is a three-course pathway.  The pathway introduces students to the various functional areas of business including marketing, economics, finance, operations, accounting, ethics, human resources management, technology, information management, and strategic management.

    • Marketing Principles is the foundational course for Marketing and Management, Fashion Merchandising and Buying, and Marketing Communications and Promotion Pathways. Marketing Principles address all the ways in which marketing satisfies consumer and business needs and wants for products and services. Students develop a basic understanding of Employability, Foundational and Business Administration skills, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Financial Analysis, Human Resources Management, Information Management, Marketing, Operations, Professional Development, Strategic Management, and Global Marketing strategies. Instructional projects with real businesses, work-based learning activities including School-Based Enterprises, and DECA application experiences should be incorporated in this course. 

     

    • Promotion and Digital Marketing is the second course in the Marketing Communications and Promotions pathway. This course focuses on the performance of key responsibilities for promotion with a focus on digital marketing concepts. Students develop skills in digital marketing, analytics, branding, advertising, public relations, and special promotions.  

     

    • Integrated Marketing Communications is the third course in the Marketing Communications and Promotion Career Pathway. This course focuses on the communication aspects of the business in relation to customer/consumer relationships. Students develop knowledge and skills in advertising, selling, direct marketing, public relations, sales promotions, and digital marketing communications. Students learn how communications affect budget considerations, marketing information decision-making, and all future business opportunities.

     

    AAS Marketing Pathway students are offered the opportunity to work in the school-based enterprise "The Alley''.  A school based enterprise (SBE) is an entrepreneurial operation in the school setting that provides goods/services to meet the needs of the market.  The Alley serves as your school store and helps prepare students for the transition from school to work or college.  For some of our students, the school based enterprise is their first work experience.  It provides students with an opportunity to develop leadership and management skills. 

    This authentic learning opportunity allows students the opportunity to receive practical learning that reinforces classroom instruction.
