• Welcome to a new school year!  I am so excited about being your child’s teacher!  This will be my first year at Cotton Indian Elementary and my eleventh year as a classroom teacher.  I received my Bachelor’s degree from Xavier University of Louisiana. I received my Master’s degree from Troy University. I enjoy reading, traveling, photography and spending time with friends and family. Your child is very important to me and I want to do everything I can to help your child be successful in my class and society as a whole.  I strongly believe that in order for:

Students to be Leaders and good citizens

A strong parent involvement and teacher communication is essential. Our positive attitude to work together as a team and build one Leader at a time will make quite an impression on the academic success and character of your child.

Attendance: Daily attendance and promptness are high priorities. If your child is going to be absent please let me know as soon as possible. Once your student returns to school you MUST send a written note with the date(s) of the absence, the reason for the absence, and the signature of the parent or doctor who treated the student.

Daily folder: The daily folder is a communication between the school and the home. They are sent to school and returned every day. Please place all money and notes inside this folder. important flyers and information are sent home daily in this folder.

Remind 101: The best way to reach me is through this texting app. Please sign up so that we are able to easily communicate via text message.

Birthdays: We are happy to recognize student birthdays. However, because learning time is very important, no birthday parties may be held during the school day. You are welcome to eat lunch with your student and are permitted to bring food to school for you and your student.  CIE’s policy is that parents are NOT allowed to bring in treats/cupcakes for the whole class due to food allergies.

    l student’s name

    l teacher’s name

    l parent’s signature

l phone number to reach parent during the day

Transportation Changes: You MUST notify me in writing if there is a change in the way your child goes home. I cannot accept emails, text messages, or phone calls for transportation changes. For all transportation changes please include:

Money:  Please send money in a sealed envelope or baggie with the following information written on it:

    • student’s name
    • amount of money enclosed
    • purpose of the money (lunch money, ice cream, field trip, etc.)
    • Mrs. Williamson Room 218

All money should be sent in the daily folder and not given to students. This helps reduce the likelihood of the money

being lost or misappropriated. You can view lunch charges and add money to your students cafeteria account at www.mylunchmoney.com.

Please help me honor my commitment to your child’s education by:

    1. Filling out the Reading book-logs to document daily reading.
    2. Assisting & reviewing homework assignments.
    3. Checking Home-School Notebooks, and Agenda’s for important information & return papers ASAP if needed.
    4. Teacher-Communicator folders will go home every Friday with graded student work. Please review and sign the form located in the back as documentation that you received documents.
    5. Discuss and initial behavior sheets daily with your child.
    6. Communicate with me via Home-School Notebook Agenda, email, Remind 101, or phone anytime. I will get back with you within 48hrs.
