Andrea A. Ellis-Grant
Andréa A. Ellis-Grant received a B.F.A. and M.A in Computer Animation from Savannah College of Art & Design. Andréa has taught 3D Animation & Motion Graphics for two years in the Film Department at G-Star School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Fl before relocating to Jonesboro, GA in 2016. Since she has been in Georgia, Andréa has completed two years of instruction as a Visual Arts teacher at Mount Zion High School in Jonesboro, GA. In 2018, she left Mount Zion high school and took on the opportunity to work for Purpose Built Schools ATL at the turnaround school, Carver Steam Academy, for a year. Following Carver Steam Academy, she worked with Fayette County Schools as a Visual Arts teacher along with being the sponsor of the Art Club.
Andréa is currently the Visual Arts teacher at Woodland Middle School. A strong advocate of the Gradual Release of Responsibility teaching model, she allows her students to engage in hands-on, project-based learning for them to become independent learners who are prepared for real-life situations. Her professional interests focus on Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Computer Animation, and teaching students how to be innovative artists.
