    Over the past few weeks our 2nd and 3rd grade students have started working on their self-selected Passion Project topic, while our 4th and 5th grade students have begun a Knowledge Quest on a self-selected topic/issue of interest. Both projects provide students an opportunity to become an expert on a topic they are interested in, as well as design a presentation to inform others about their topic. Over the next 2 weeks please encourage your child to continue to research their topic. Students will receive additional guidance on next steps through Google Classroom as well as my website that you can access through the MT. Carmel webpage.

    The gifted program will be delivered in a resource model, where in the students identified as gifted will be pulled out of their homerooms one day per week. They will still have the opportunity to attend specials, lunch and recess with their homeroom peers.

    I am excited to take the responsibilities of a gifted teacher and look forward to working with and learning from the high ability and creative students. My vision, as a gifted educator, is to deliver a program that sets high standards to encourage the students to identify their potential and challenge themselves. As every child is unique in his or her abilities, everyone gets an opportunity to perform and excel in his or her unique talents in my classroom.
