• Dear Wolverine Parents,

In an effort to curb the recent rash of tardies, the UGHS administration will be implementing an old practice: tardy lockdowns.  when we conduct an unannounced tardy lockdown, teachers will be instructed to shut their doors and sent all students who are tardy to the commons area where they will be assigned Friday afterschool detention that will last from 3:30-4:30. Students and parents will be responsible for making transportation arrangements.

    Expectations during detention:

    ·         MUST BRING A SCHOOL-RELATED, NON-TECHNOLOGY ASSIGNMENT TO WORK ON

    ·         CELLPHONES MUST BE TURNED OFF AND NOT VISIBLE

    ·         NO TALKING OR DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR DURING ASSIGNED DETENTION

    ·         MUST BE ON TIME AND SERVE THE ENTIRE HOUR

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE STATED EXPECTATIONS WILL BE GIVEN A DISCIPLINE REFERRAL FOR “FAILURE TO REPORT TO DETENTION,” AND STUDENT WILL SERVE ONE DAY OF IN-SCHOOL SUSPENSION.

INSUBORDINATION, DISRESPECT, OR ANY OTHER SECTION ONE
VIOLATION ACCORDING TO THE HENRY COUNTY HANDBOOK DURING DETENTION WILL BE TREATED UNDER NORMAL PROCEDURES AND STUDENT WILL BE GIVEN CONSEQUENCES ACCORDING TO THE HENRY COUNTY PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK.

Our hopes are that students will be re-focused the final 3 months of school, and get to class on time.

    Thank you for your support,

    The UGHS Administrative Team
