For my class we will focus on the character traits/adjectives for DRIVE:
    To Students:
Success is determined, not by whether or not you face obstacles, but by your reaction to them.
If you look at those obstacles as a containing fence, they become your excuse for failure. If you look
at the obstacles as hurdles, each one will strengthen you for the next one and nothing can stop you. --Dr. Ben Carson
There is a 1 to 1 correlation between the success you receive from life and what you put in it. --Dr. Ben Carson
    To Parents:

I am so delighted to have your wonderful children in my class. My passion and goals for the students are great and I will work to spread my enjoyment of learning to the students. Allow me to work with you as we expand their knowledge and learning this year; it takes a village.

Please check out my pages throughout the year to find out what is going on in class, see homework
and classroom assignments, get helpful links for the students to use for practice and review, and for opportunities for you to participate in the new and exciting things that will happen in
    room 110.
My Bulldog PRIDE means that I guarantee you that your child will have a successful year in literature. I guarantee that I will do everything I can do to propel every child to the next level, by providing consistent and deliberate effort to their learning and in life skills. I guarantee that I will treat each child with respect and as my responsibility because I see this great opportunity as my ministry, and I do not take that lightly. You have entrusted me to teach your child and I will uphold your expectations. This is my guarantee
Come and visit our class (anytime) to see what we have going on and you'll be amazed as we learn.
    To Parents and Students:
I believe that the classroom should be a safe and caring environment and that every stakeholder
(teacher, parents/guardians, & students) should embrace CORE values:

Civility (correctness & politeness in behavior & speech)
    Order (regulation of procedures)
Respect (understanding that all people, opinions, viewpoints, etc. are important and should be valued, even if you do not agree)
Excellence (the quality of being outstanding or extremely good)
I am looking forward to working with you this year,
    Dr. Precious (Pepper) Prothro
