Never Stop Learning is an opportunity to engage in remote learning experiences due to inclement weather or other identified school disruptions. Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, HCS schools and facilities will be closed for two weeks. Please review the following remote learning day expectations to ensure your student continues to receive a quality educational experience.
REMOTE LEARNING DAYS EXPECTATIONS:
❏ Student Chromebook or a home computer
❏ Textbooks issued in ELA and Math Courses (Print). Students were given their textbooks in class on Friday, March 13th to bring home.
❏ Digital access to textbooks (HMH) for Math, ELA, Social Studies and Science courses
DELIVERY OF INSTRUCTION
❏ Instruction and tasks will be provided through Google Classroom for ALL classes. Students are familiar with this platform.
❏ Lessons will be available through Classlink via HMH Instructional Resource Platform for digital activities for ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
❏ Teachers will host office hours each day. Please see the teacher’s webpage for how office hours will be conducted.

● 3:00 - 4:00 PM
❏ Students are expected to log into their learning platforms (Google Classroom, HMH, Google Docs etc.) each day to receive instruction and to complete their daily tasks.
❏ Students must abide by posted due dates for tasks. If students are sick, please contact the teacher for the make-up timeline.
❏ If your student is experiencing technology issues, contact the teacher immediately.

About Mrs. PickettBiographyI have been an educator for 23 years, the last fourteen years here at Dutchtown Middle School. I current hold my masters degree from Norfolk State University. I am a wife, a mom and a grandma. I love learning and teaching and I look forward to working with your students this year.This year in earth science the major topics of study include meteorology, astronomy, oceanography and geology. In social studies the students will cover Europe, Latin America, Austraila and Canada.
