    Greetings Woodland Community,

    It is with great excitement and honor to welcome each of you to the beginning of a new school year at Woodland Middle School.  I am privileged to be the principal of Woodland Middle, as this year will be my first year to serve the school and community in this capacity. I have seventeen years of experience in the middle school setting as a teacher, department chair, and most recently serving the last seven years as assistant principal of Woodland Middle.

    As a part of the inaugural staff of Woodland Middle School when the building opened in 2010, we established a vision and mission for our school to be a nurturing, learning environment where each student experiences success. Our commitment to student growth and success will continue to be the focus of our work as a school. Woodland Middle School is committed to providing a challenging and rigorous curriculum that helps each student to achieve and grow. Woodland Middle School’s highly qualified, dedicated and caring faculty and staff work tirelessly each day to assist each student in reaching his/her full potential.

    We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our students can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

    ·       Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience;

    ·       Completes all assignments given by teachers;

    ·       Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life;

    ·       Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject; and

    ·       Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and to be college and career ready.

    We encourage you to contact or visit us as the need arises and to stay in the know about your child’s studies, school activities, as well as other events and happenings at our school.  Feel free to contact me, other building administrators, our teachers, or any support staff if ever there is a question or concern and even to share with us the fantastic things that you experience with us.

    I look forward to working with you and your child this year!
