• A native of Tuskegee, Alabama, Jeffrey D. Hughley, received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Alabama State University in 2004 and a Master of Music Education from Troy University in 2006. Mr. Hughley also received his Educational Specialist Degree in Teacher Leader from the University of West Alabama in 2013 and a second Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from Auburn University at Montgomery 2016. Mr. Hughley is currently a doctoral candidate (Ed.D) in Music Education at the University of Georgia in Athens. Mr. Hughley is in his fifteenth year as a music educator. He began his teaching career in Alabama, where he served as director of bands and department chair of the fine arts.  He was active in the community and civic organizations, Mr. Hughley has availed himself to serve in various volunteer capacities such as the assistant conductor of the Tuskegee-Macon County Community Band, 2007-2009; and, engages his students in civic and community activities such as scholarship programs, parades, and concerts outside of the school setting. Under his tutelage and guidance, his symphonic and marching bands have received superior ratings at the district, state, and national levels. He also taught music appreciation, symphonic band and woodwind methods at Alabama State University. Mr. Hughley was the director of bands at Baldwin Arts and Academics Magnet School (2015-2016) in Montgomery, Alabama where he taught Percussion class, Symphonic, Concert, and Jazz bands. Under his instruction, the Symphonic band received straight superior ratings at Music Performance Assessment, ten students to make All-district and three students make Alabama All-State. Mr. Hughley is currently the assistant band director at Dutchtown High School in Hampton, Ga. Mr. Hughley serves as a clinician in states of Georgia and Alabama. Mr. Hughley is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association, Alabama Music Educators Association, Alabama Bandmasters Association, Music Educators Community of Central Alabama, Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
