My name is Tawanda Brown-Miller and I am very excited to work with your children this 2019-2020 school year. I have been working with children in the capacity of mentor, academic coach, teacher, and counselor for over 10 years. I have a Bachelors in Psychology, a Masters degree in School Counseling, and am certified to serve K-12 students. This will be my 4th year as the school counselor at SES. It is my goal to provide your child and my students with academic, career, and social/ emotional support throughout their tenure at Stockbridge Elementary. I love to have fun with my students as I promote positive self-concept and build resiliency. Utilizing personal strengths and providing students with conflict resolution tools helps them overcome challenges.
When I am not in the school setting, I am busy on the soccer field with my son who is in middle school, at dance lessons with my daughter who is in elementary school, or doing community service. Though I live in Georgia and wish the Falcons much success, I am a die-hard NY Giants fan since that is where I was born and raised.
As your child's school counselor, I look forward to collaborating with you as well as administration, teachers, and academic coaches to teach, educate, and inspire "our children." Please feel free to email me or contact me at 770-474-8743 if you have any referrals, questions or concerns.
This is going to be a great year!
